A Manchester man has been busted on drug and other charges, after being pulled over in a store parking lot on driving infractions.

Last Wednesday (Feb. 6), Manchester Police made a traffic stop in the local Walmart parking lot for erratic driving.

During the stop, officers surmised that the driver was under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Police patted the suspect down and found illegal narcotics in his possession. He was taken to the Delaware County jail, where he became belligerent and resisted jail procedures.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Melvin Liggins of Manchester, was charged with Operating Under the Influence-2nd Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd or Subsequent Offense, and Interference with Official Acts.
