Today is the ULTIMATE "Taco Tuesday." Happy National Taco Day!

To celebrate National Taco Day, Yelp has released a list of the best taco joints in all 50 states. Here in Iowa, the winner is Flame The Taqueria in Johnston! Flame the Taqueria's main location is at 5765 Merle Hay Road, but there is also a restaurant at 103 Main St SE in Bondurant, Flame Cantina in Ankeny, and a food truck that travels around the area.

Yelp's article says that Flame the Taqueria is owned by chef Arturo Mora, who first came to the U.S. at the age of 14. The restaurant features "portraits of his family in Mexico, where his abuela taught him to cook."

Popular items at Flame the Taqueria include the birria and al pastor tacos, but the menu also offers mango shrimp tacos, street tacos, quesadillas, tortas, enchiladas, burgers, and more. They also have a catering menu, with options like a nacho bar, a fajita bar, breakfast burritos, "Not Your Mamas Mac & Cheese," churros, and Mexican corn.

Flame the Taqueria has a ton of positive reviews on Yelp, including one from John A. that reads:

"Recently took a trip to Guanajuato, MX. What does that have to do with Flame the Taqueria you ask? Their cooks are clearly deeply in touch with how to make legitimate and tasty Mexican cuisine."

Another review from Amy D. says that the restaurant has the "best Mexican food in town!!" It's no wonder the restaurant has a 4.8 out of 5 star rating!
