New Corridor Restaurant Serves Gyros, Wings, Falafel, and More

Ready to try something new in 2025?

Way back in the spring of 2023, we got word that a New York-based restaurant chain called The Halal Guys would be opening several Iowa locations. At the time, there was no official timeline on WHEN the restaurants would be opening, but we knew that one of the five locations would be in the Iowa City area. Well, we are happy to report that The Halal Guys has opened its doors in Coralville!

The Coralville Halal Guys opened its doors at 3220 Redhawk Street back on December 21st, and it appears that the first day in business was a huge success. A video posted on social media shows lines out the door, giveaways, and even a DJ! It is the first franchise location in Iowa.

The menu at The Halal Guys features gyros, sandwiches, falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, baklava, and more! An don't forget to try their famous White Sauce! The online menu also shows that the restaurant is also offering chicken wings, honey sriracha falafel, and hot honey hummus on its "Limited Time Offer Menu."

The Halal Guys is open Sunday through Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Wednesday & Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday & Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 p.m.

We've received news about quite a few new restaurant openings in the Corridor over the past few weeks! CityWalk Eatery in Downtown Cedar Rapids is currently holding its soft opening through January 12th, and Insomnia Cookies has also opened its first location in Cedar Rapids over near Pickle Palace. 2025 is already off to a great start when it comes to restaurant news!
