The website Cozy Meal, which routinely does a number of stories about fast food joints, has come up with a list of the least healthy fast food restaurants in the U.S.
Of the top five, Iowa is home to four of 'em.

If you're like me, you enjoy a fast food sammy or two. Fries... a shake... okay, if you're like me, you flat-out enjoy fast food. It's a guilty pleasure.
Cozy Meal posted the The 15 Unhealthiest Fast Food Restaurants and Iowa has several locations of the number one... offender? If that's the right word.
According to their findings, Burger King is the most unhealthy fast-food restaurant in America.
There's no shortage of BKs in Iowa. We have about 5 in Cedar Rapids and a couple in Waterloo.
Back in 2020, Burger King made national news when five Iowa locations sold for a mere $1.
The top five most unhealthy restaurants on the list include more royalty:
- Burger King
- Dairy Queen
- Taco Bell
- Chick-fil-A
- Jack in the Box (not in Iowa)
So what is the most unhealthy item at Burger King? It's a Whopper indeed... Not the standard one, but the Triple Whopper with bacon and cheese.
That bad boy packs 1,349 calories, 94 grams of fat (including 33 grams of saturated fat), and a whopping (pun intended) 1,990 milligrams of sodium. Oof.
