It sure seems that dogs attacking humans have gone on nonstop over the last month, or that dogs are in the news for one reason or another.

Recently people in a small Iowa town were given incredibly short notice that they'd have to get rid of their pit bull or pit bull-like dogs.

On August 17, we shared a story of an eight-year-old boy in Springville being hospitalized after he was attacked by two dogs. As far as I'm aware, the cause of the attack was never determined, but the story said the injuries the boy sustained were fairly gruesome.

Then, just a day later, a story surfaced about a woman from Rossie who was attacked by the Great Danes she owned. Her body was found in a ditch, and a man thought that she had passed in a motorcycle accident, but an autopsy determined her death was caused by a barrage of bites from the canines.

And now, per KWWL, a six-year-old was injured in an attack by four Wheaten Terriers last weekend. Nashua is a town of just over 1,500 people and is located about 40 minutes north of Waterloo.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office shared that it received a call about the attack at 3:51 PM on Saturday, September 3. The child was attacked on Panama Street.

KWWL reported that "the 6-year-old received injuries to the head and neck area. The child was transported to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital."

The four terriers are set to be euthanized by a veterinarian.

Information regarding who owned the dogs, what may have caused the attack, and the condition of the child have not been released at this time.

What Twitter Thinks Living in Iowa is Like

Twitter is a strange, (and can be a) dark place. What it has to say about the Hawkeye State is pretty accurate, though. Let's see what tweeters out there have to say about Iowa in 280 characters or less.
