A few weeks ago, Caitlin Clark helped make Indiana Fever history.

The former Iowa Hawkeye helped secure the Fever's first playoff run since 2016.

Now, that the regular season is officially over, it's time for these underdogs to show the rest of the league what they've got on the road to the WNBA Championship.

In Caitlin Clark's last regular game in her rookie season, this Rookie of the Year contender and her team fell by one point in a tight matchup against the Washington Mystics (91 to 92).

While the Mystics clinched this win, they did not clinch a spot in the playoffs.

The Indiana Fever are ranked #6 in the league. In order to make it to the post-season games, team needs to crack through and make the top eight.

In the next few years, it might be a bit more difficult to make the cut due to the WNBA adding three expansion teams in the near future. There will be teams added in Portland, Vancouver, and the Bay Area.

Here is the official rundown of all the teams that will be vying for the championship this time around as well as their respective rankings overall.

  1. New York Liberty
  2. Minnesota Lynx
  3. Connecticut Sun
  4. Las Vegas Aces
  5. Seattle Storm
  6. Indiana Fever
  7. Phoenix Mercury
  8. Atlanta Dream

When Will the Playoff Games Start?

The WNBA teams that secured a spot in the playoffs have a lot of work to do.

All eight teams will play their first game on Sunday, September 22nd. The first round of the playoffs consists of four different best-of-three first round series. In order to make it to the semi-finals, a team has to win two out of the three games.

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are set to battle it out against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. The higher ranked team in each matchup will be hosting the first two games in the series.

Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM at Mohegan Sun Arena on September 22nd. The game will air live on ABC at that time.

The second game of this series will take place once again at Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, September 25th at 6:30 PM and will broadcast on ESPN.

If both the Sun and the Fever end up winning one game each in the first of three rounds, then Indiana will host the final game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday, September 27th.

The tipoff time for this game is yet to be determined.

We will keep you updated as the Indiana Fever move throughout the playoffs.

If the Fever do come out on top in their matchups against Connecticut they will go on to play the winners of the Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury best of three games.

From the way the Lynx are playing, there's a good chance that Clark and Indiana might have a Midwest matchup in the semi-finals.

Take a look back through Caitlin Clark's rookie season so far as we prepare for her WNBA playoff season debut.
