It's always important to stay on top of recalls. Some could protect you from potentially deadly contamination, while others could prevent a serious allergy risk.

Today, we have a recall to share that isn't one that could cause death or likely even serious illness, but it's still important to be aware.

This recall does impact something many of us, myself included, start our day with: coffee.

There is No Real Danger to Consumers

Classified as a low‑risk FDA Class III recall, the New Mexico Piñon Coffee Company initiated the recall due to caution; no illnesses or injuries have been reported.

In other words, if you consumed the product, you'll likely never know, unless the taste was a bit off. I'm not sure how food-safe ink tastes, but I'd imagine it's not super pleasant.

What to Do If You Purchased the Recalled Product

If you think you purchased the recalled Dark Piñon Single Serve coffee pods, first, check to make sure they're the recalled product.

  • Check your pods: Inspect for UPC 812361033081, lot code 251749, and best‑by date May 8, 2026.

  • Stop using any pods matching those identifiers.

  • Return or discard: Bring them back to the retailer for a refund or recycle them safely.
