Iowans, you knew this already but now we can finally say we have science to prove it. This study has to have been 100% legit right? There's no way they'd just make something like this up. I've always found it pretty interesting how our taste in certain flavors varies so greatly from region to region. Would you agree with the incredibly real scientific study put together by Whiskey Riff?

We often joke about Iowa's love of Corn, Pork, Wrestling, the Hawkeyes, Ashton Kutcher, and Busch light, now we have concrete proof that this delicious light beer is favored in Iowa. As you head out to visit your family and friends for Thanksgiving, it shouldn't be that surprising to find cases of Busch Light taking up room in the fridge next to all of the food. Just this last weekend I went to a Friendsgiving and I helped supply the party with the second case of Busch Light beer.

According to Whiskey Riff, beer is the third most consumed beverage in the world and only tea and water are more popular. How much Busch Light is actually consumed in Iowa? It turns out, millions of gallons.

Whiskey Riff reports that almost 16 million gallons of Busch Light were shipped to Iowa in a year, which totals a 7-gallon pony keg per adult in Iowa. I don't know if I should find that impressive or scary... either way, that's a lot of Busch Light being consumed in Iowa.

I grew up in Minnesota and I've always found McGolden Light to be the preferred light beer of choice. Most bars will have Busch Light cans or bottles on sale but you rarely will find it on tap. Not in Iowa. Every adult watering hole I seem to visit has the good stuff on tap and I couldn't be happier about that. Whether it's 21-year-old college kids or 70-year-old dads working on the car in the garage, age is just a number when it comes to Busch Light drinkers in the state of Iowa.

Busch Light beer is so well-liked in Iowa, that the official Busch Beer Twitter, virtually shook hands with the entire state back in March.

Drink up this holiday and enjoy the time spent with your family and friends. I'm sure you'll be able to find some awesome holiday deals on cases of Iowa's favorite adult beverage. You should remember to do this safely and always plan for a sober ride home. Lyfts and Ubers will be incredibly busy this week/weekend so it's best to plan ahead and remember to be patient waiting for your sober ride.

What Non-Iowans Think of Iowa

Iowa is the capital of the Midwest! Ok, that's unofficial, but it's my stance. Here's what NON Iowans think of us.
