Iowa has 99 counties, as any Iowan would know, but oddly, many of the towns that dot those 99 counties have fewer than 99 residents.
In fact, some have fewer than 20 residents.

My wife's family farm is, in part, located in Jackson Junction. A city with just 37 people. Believe it or not, it's still too big a town to make this list!

Iowa's Smallest Cities
For our little trip through Iowa's tiny towns, we found cities that had a population size of under 30. Actually, our biggest tiny town only has a population of 21 so, that was quite easy.

According to World Population Review, Iowa is home to 1021 cities and these are the smallest of 'em all!
