Kohl’s is arguably one of the most popular retail chains. Here in Eastern Iowa, we have several locations including a couple in Cedar Rapids, one in Cedar Falls, Mason City, Coralville, and Dubuque.

I have to say with a certain degree of bias, I shop regularly at the location near my house in Cedar Falls.

Unfortunately, like many other major retailers and chain restaurants, Kohl’s is shutting down locations a small number of its 1,150 locations across the United States this April.

Luckily, the answer is no according to the report. The stores closing are:

Alabama: Spanish Fort
Arkansas: Little Rock West
California: Balboa (San Diego), Encinitas, Fremont, Mountain View, Napa, Pleasanton, Sacramento, San Rafael, San Luis Obispo, Westchester
Colorado: Aurora
Georgia: Duluth
Idaho: Boise
Illinois: Plainfield, West Dundee
Massachusetts: Stoughton
New Jersey: East Windsor
Ohio: Blue Ash, Cincinnati
Oregon: Portland Gateway
Pennsylvania: Pottstown
Texas: North Dallas
Utah: Riverton

Why is Kohl's Closing 27 Stores?

Kohl's issued a statement explaining the closures coming April stating the above-listed locations are "underperforming stores."

Luckily for Kohl's fans in Eastern Iowa, nothing will change, at least for now. You can still visit if you enjoy the Amazon Returns Outpost, Sephora, or whatever other Kohl's service you like.

Hilarious Iowa DOT Signs

Anyone else share a sense of humor with a state's Department of Transportation? Just me? Well, every Monday the Iowa Department of Transportation puts up a sometimes hilarious, sometimes straightforward message on their road signs across the state. This is called "message Monday" and Iowa DOT tries to entertain and educate drivers through these signs. Here are just a few of our favorites.
