Cedar Falls Cafe Announces Sudden Closure
Cedar Falls Cafe Announces Sudden Closure
It's always a disappointment to hear about a local business closing up shop.
According to reports, approximately 60% of new restaurants fail in their first year in business.
One Cedar Falls cafe had just celebrated its first year in business when the team announced they were closing.
Located at 119 Main Street in Cedar Falls, Le Petit is a French inspired patisserie and café and is attached to the historic Black Hawk Hotel.
The restaurant opened for business in July of 2023. This location has been home to several different businesses over the past four years. Before Le Petit moved into this space, it was home to a sandwich/charcuterie spot called Carter House.
Le Petit's team announced that they have decided to close up the eatery.
A reason for the closure was not given.
In a statement on the business's Facebook page, the owners of Le Petit mentioned they are exploring different options to continue producing bread for some of their partners.
Their last day in business is Sunday, September 29th, and they will be selling discounted breads and pastries.
There is no word on what's next for this business or the space.
We will keep you updated as more information is made available regarding the space at 119 Main Street.
