The NHL team that calls the neighbors to the north of Iowa home, spent a little time in Des Moines, Iowa, yesterday. They did spend some time on the ice at the Wells Fargo Arena, practicing for their season opener, (Oct 13) where they really stood out on the golf course.

The Wild enjoyed a little team bonding session at the Harvester Golf Club, which is about a 30-minute car ride northeast of Des Moines. If you're not a Minnesota Wild fan you may not know that Des Moines is home of the "baby Wild" or the Minor League team for the Minnesota Wild. The professional team will spend some time in Des Moines during the off-season, every once in a while.

It appears the team split up into groups and played a team scramble. The teams were made up of players and coaches. Whether the scores looked good or not, I wasn't able to find out on the Wild Instagram page... but you know what did look great? The teams all rocked matching outfits!

You can see various players wearing matching shirts each representing the team they were on and it sure looked like a fantastic day to play. On the Wild Instagram story yesterday, they had a post that stated "Does this look like heaven?" On the very next slide the post read "No, it's Iowa."

Last year, after an exciting regular season that saw the Wild finish the year with 53 wins and 22 losses, the Wild were sadly eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. They look to bounce back this year with a lot of the same players returning to this year's roster. It was pretty cool to see them enjoying their last remaining time off, in Iowa, before the upcoming season.

The Wild open the season tomorrow at home. The puck will drop is at 7 pm, as they host the New York Rangers.
