Take the Leap: United Way’s Over the Edge Returning to Waterloo
Last year, I watched two co-workers go... say it dramatically, over theeee eddddddge!
This year, you can go over the edge for the United Way!
Generous Iowans and local teams will rappel off the historic TechWorks building, raising a minimum of $1,000 each to fund programs that support health, education, and financial stability in Black Hawk County.
All proceeds benefit United Way’s efforts to improve lives right here in our community.
Why It Matters to Iowa and Our Community
Over The Edge’s lofty fundraiser lets Cedar Valley residents make a visible, courageous impact.

United Way identifies local needs, like childcare, food security, and senior services, and directs donations to effective programs in our own backyard.

Your support can fund 16 weeks of quality childcare, help a family avoid eviction, or feed hundreds of neighbors in need.
The event also brings people together to raise awareness of community challenges while celebrating volunteer spirit and local pride.

Training and safety instructions before rappelling
Optional costumes, mascots, and team themes from local organizations and businesses

We'll be there, too!
Not to mention, UNI’s mascots TC and TK have rappelled in the past, and you never know who might go over the edge this year!
