Hey Iowa, Do You Do This With Your Bedsheets?
The internet can be a fascinating place to find conversations that really matter.
I'm not talking about political conversations that might involve world peace, inflation, supply chain issues, gas prices, real estate prices, and climate control either. I'm talking about conversations that can define you as a person. Conversations such as; Does ketchup belong on a hot dog, should you share your phone passwords with significant others, are roundabouts truly better for speeding up traffic, and is Nickelback actually awesome? These are the types of conversations that can divide a room.
Did you know there's a great debate raging on the internet about bed sheets right now? You likely didn't even know you cared about this until this moment. Are you supposed to tuck in your top bed sheet or leave it hanging at the end of the bed?
To Tuck or Not to Tuck
According to Today YouGov, 29% of people tuck their top sheets in the bottom only, while 23% of people prefer their bed sheets to be completely untucked. As a side note, 17% of people tuck their sheets in on the bottom AND the side, which basically locks you in your bed. Those 17% of people are complete psychopaths...
Are you tucking in your bed sheets at all or do you let them hang free? Let us know in the comments.
Hot Take Opinion
I have a hot take for you that, most likely, few people with agree with me on. GET RID OF THE TOP SHEET COMPLETELY. All you need is the elastic sheet that you use to cover up the mattress. Thinking that you need that centimeter worth of "sheet cover" is absolutely ridiculous.
I hate sleeping with a top sheet and this is a hill I will die on for the rest of my life. They are completely unnecessary and always end up in a clumped-up, cluttered, annoying mess at night. They feel so restricting on my ability to move my legs around when I sleep that all I do is kick them around and they end up at the bottom of my bed.
If you have a good enough comforter, top sheets are completely unnecessary and provide little to zero help keeping you warm. According to Today YouGov, only 12% of people have common sense and do not use a top sheet. Not using a top sheet means less laundry, it's easier to make the bed, and you avoid a tangled mess every night.
Where do you lie (see what I did there) in the great tuck or no tuck debate? If you have any shred of common sense, you'll get rid of your top sheet today to never be seen again.
