If you're a fan of the Harry Potter films then this unique event in Cedar Falls is for you! The University of Northern Iowa is playing host to an exciting event that is commonly referred to as a CineConcert.

CineConcerts are feature length film screenings that are accompanied by live orchestras. A live symphony plays the scores for the movies that we all love. These shows (at least in my opinion) bring the films to life in completely new and exciting way!

This is all a part of a global series of musical events

Other movies with CineConcert events include The Polar Express in Concert, Gladiator Live, The Godfather Live, It’s a Wonderful Life in Concert, DreamWorks Animation In Concert, Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage, Breakfast at Tiffany’s in Concert, A Christmas Dream Live, Rudy in Concert, The Passion of the Christ in Concert.

When these events are hosted by the university, U.N.I. enlists the Waterloo/Cedar Falls symphony to perform this beautiful music. Very soon, a global sensation will be coming to the college.

Last year, U.N.I. hosted a CineConcerts event with a Jane Goodall documentary screening. This fall, the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center will be hosting another one of these events; this time trading in science for magic.

On November 4th at 7:00 PM, get ready to go to Hogwarts with a musical screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. For more information on tickets, make sure to check out the official ticket website.
