Authorities have arrested a young man for allegedly setting fire to the city hall in Clarksville.


Fire crews were summoned Saturday afternoon to an apparent blaze inside the Clarksville City Hall.

No one was hurt, but there was extensive damage to the building.

The cause of the fire, which began inside the building, was determined to be suspicious in nature.

Following an investigation, the Butler County Sheriff arrested 23-year-old Nicholas Wessels of Clarksville. He is being charged with Arson-2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief-2nd Degree.

The Clarksville Police Department assisted in the investigation.
