Brett "Red" Morris from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is currently ranked number 9 in the world for the world's strongest man competition. Pardon my slang here but this gentleman is an absolute beast.

At 28 years old Brett has already accomplished the feat of becoming one of the top 10 strongest men in the world and he's looking for more. Brett was a center at Concordia University and he told KCRG, that he channels a lot of his football background to help him lift heavy things.

I think it’s 50-50 mental and physical. You have to be in the right headspace to be able to pick these weights up. It is you and the bar. It is lifted or be killed, essentially.

Right now, Brett weighs close to 400 pounds and he has to eat. A lot. I'm not sure if I'm impressed with the amount of food Brett eats or intimidated. As of right now, I'm 5'9 and weigh around 165 or so pounds, and I wonder how are their guys built like Brett and then guys built like me? Seems unfair? Every day when Brett eats, he has a certain protein goal he strives to hit. He told KCRG he eats hundreds of grams of protein a day.

I have a protein goal I try to hit 250 to 300 grams of protein a day. I am eating about 5000 to 7000 calories a day.

By far one of the more impressive things Brett has accomplished is bench pressing over 500 pounds, twice. He was able to bench 526 pounds according to KCRG. After doing some quick math that's like bench-pressing a little over 3 of me.

While many people would love to be top 10 in the world in anything, Brett isn't exactly where he'd want to be. He's looking to claim the top spot.

Men and Women who can lift a lot of weight have always been so impressive to me. My entire life I've been a pretty small guy, so growing up I always looked at the world's strongest men and women as almost "real-life Hulk" characters. Having the dedication and the discipline to lift incredibly heavy things day after day sounds like an absolute nightmare to a guy like me. For Brett "Red" Morris, it's just another Tuesday.
