Sex Assault Charges Filed Against 2 Area Men
Two Fayette County men could face decades in prison for separate sexual assault charges.
After a two-week investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff arrested 24-year-old Cody Mosher of Waucoma on two (2) counts of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree. Mosher is accused of having sexual relations with a 14-year-old, about two years ago at his residence in Waucoma. Recently, the same victim, now 16 years old, claimed Mosher had nonconsensual sex with them again at the same location. If convicted, Mosher could receive a maximum of 20 years in prison.
And after a month-long investigation, Fayette County authorities have arrested 25-year-old Thomas Whitlatch of Hawkeye; he is being charged with Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree. Whitlatch allegedly restrained an adult victim by tying them up, then forced a sexual act upon the victim. If Whitlatch is convicted, he could be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
