The Nashville Predators hosted another home playoff game at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night (May 18), and Kelly Clarkson had the honor of singing the National Anthem before puck drop. She continued the Preds' 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs tradition of bringing out a big-name artist to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Clarkson's strong rendition fired up the Bridgestone Arena crowd, and proved once again why she is a leading voice in music. It was not the first time that Clarkson has performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" before a major sports game: She also did so before Super Bowl XLVI.

The Nashville Predators’ National Anthem singers during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs have, thus far, all been country stars: Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan sang the Anthem during the Preds’ two home Round 1 playoff games, while Little Big TownVince Gill and his daughters Jenny and Corinna and Lady Antebellum sang during Round 2. For Nashville's first home game of this series, on Tuesday (May 16), Keith Urban did the honors.

Prior to Game 3, the Predators were leading their Western Conference Final series vs. Ducks two games to one. The Preds defeated the Chicago Blackhawks four games to none during their first Stanley Cup Playoffs series to advance to Round 2; they then defeated the St. Louis Blues four games to two in that series to advance to Round 3. Nashville’s series vs. Anaheim is the final set of games before the Stanley Cup Final.
