Authorities have arrested 3 young burglars, who allegedly broke into a rural Fayette County home, and stole a considerable amount of cash.


The Fayette County Sheriff took a report on February 2nd, and conducted an investigation, into a home burglary in rural Waucoma. About $1,000 in cash was reported missing by the homeowner. After gathering evidence at the scene, and following the week-long investigation, on Thursday (Feb. 9) officers arrested 3 people.

18-year-old John Odegard of Elgin, a 16-year-old male from Alpha, and a 17-year-old male from West Union, were arrested and charged with Burglary in the Third Degree.

All three teens were taken to the Fayette County jail, where Odegard was held until his initial court appearance. The other 2 were booked, then released to their parents. They will be seen in juvenile court at a later date.
