The Iowa women's basketball team added to the nation's second-longest home winning streak Wednesday night with a 92-79 win over Minnesota at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The home win streak now stands at 42 games. Iowa will face a stiff challenge on their home court next week.

Iowa was led in scoring Wednesday night by a familiar face, who Iowa fans will finally get to see on live television this weekend. Freshman phenom Caitlan Clark had the third double-double of her very young Iowa career. Clark (#22 above), a guard, poured in 37 points and also pulled down 11 rebounds, both team highs last night.

Iowa's only other scorer in double figures Wednesday night was junior center Monika Czinano who scored 19 points while grabbing 9 rebounds.

The next two Iowa women's games will be televised. Finally. It will be the team's first two live television appearances of the season. The first one is Saturday night at 6 p.m., as the Hawks visit Evanston, Illinois to play 22nd-ranked Northwestern. Northwestern is 5-2. Iowa, 8-1, isn't ranked but received votes in last week's poll.

Iowa faces a big challenge to the home court win streak on Wednesday, January 13. That's when 16th-ranked Ohio State visits Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Buckeyes are 5-0, after having four games postponed earlier in the year, including a game against Iowa, due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the team. The game will be played at the odd time of 3 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 13. It will also be televised by the Big Ten Network.

Iowa's home win streak of 42 games is second in the nation to Baylor, who has won 61 in a row in Waco, Texas. The 6th-ranked Bears were supposed to host #3 Connecticut tonight but the game has been canceled after Baylor coach Kim Mulkey tested positive for coronavirus.

Iowa hasn't lost in Iowa City since January 28, 2018.
