If the fact that emojis looking so darn similar kept you up at night, Apple is here to rescue you.

They have unveiled its new, racially diverse emojis in a beta version of its operating system (currently only available to software developers). The human-looking emojis, including the Santas, now come in many shades. It looks as though these emoji will have interchangeable swatches that can change a Caucasian emoji to a variety of different skin colors. There are six different options for hair and skin, accessible through a dropdown menu on each icon in apps such as Messages for Mac.

An official release date has not yet been set, but the change has been expected since last year when several Emoji users criticized creator Unicode Consortium for failing to create emoji faces with skin colors other than white. However, some people have taken to Twitter to complain that the emojis intended to represent Asian people are yellow and look like they have jaundice.
