Arrest in High Speed Chase in Benton County

An Eastern Iowa man has been arrested following a high speed chase in Benton County.

The incident began Monday (March 14) when authorities attempted to pull over a car for a routine traffic stop in Vinton.

The driver, identified as 24 year old Quentin McNeal of Garrison, refused to stop, and led authorities on a pursuit west of Vinton. Benton County Deputies chased McNeal toward Garrison, then back to Vinton, using Highway 218 and county gravel roads.

McNeal was finally stopped in Vinton and arrested. He is being charged with two counts of eluding, speeding, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, no license, and a probation violation.
