Iowa Has One of the Best Airports in America… REALLY
We are entering the final few months of the year, which means that people are starting to get their travel plans for the holidays squared away.
Last year, AAA predicted that nearly 112.7 million people would make a holiday journey of fifty or more miles from their home between December 23rd and January 2nd.
A good chunk of long-distance holiday travelers will be flying out of some smaller airports, especially if they're traveling through the Hawkeye State.
One of the Iowa airports was nominated for USA Today's 10Best Small Airports in the country. Surprisingly, it's actually our largest airport, located in our capital city; the Des Moines International Airport might be named one of the best of the best.
Des Moines International Airport offers 32 direct flights to some of the biggest airports in the country. Several of the most popular airlines operate flights out of this Iowa facility, including American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines.
