Driver Avoids One Train, Hits 2nd Train

An Eastern Iowa man faces charges after he crashed his SUV into a train.

The incident happened shortly after 7am Friday, in Norway, located in Benton County.

32 year old Joshua Thomas of Hiawatha, was driving southbound on Euclid Avenue, when he drove around the stop arm at a train crossing, after an eastbound train had passed.

As Thomas drove around the crossing arm, a westbound train approached, and they collided.

No one was injured, but Thomas was arrested for driving offenses.

There was no indication on how much damage was done to the train or SUV.
