Around 15 years ago, a lot of schools made the decision to no longer allow dodgeball because of the possibility of lawsuits and the liability they had to protect kids. Kids in school at the time were upset about it, but with everyone being all sue-happy anymore, it made sense. Now, there's a news story about a school that let it go, but ended up with one employee in handcuffs.

At the Carriage Hills Elementary School in Lawton, Oklahoma, the gym class was playing dodgeball, but afterward, one student showed up in the principal's office to complain about the conduct of a staff member.

The student said the staff member threw a dodgeball at him three times, hitting him in the leg, back, and once in the face - knocking his glasses off of his head.

According to the student, they had thrown a dodgeball while playing the game, which bounced off of another student and hit the employee. The employee became upset with the student and exacted revenge by throwing the ball too hard at him.

Multiple students arrived at the principal's office with the student, corroborating the student's account of the incident.

Police were called and when they arrived, found the staff member, who said he had been sitting in the class when the student threw the ball at him and another teacher but refused to apologize for it.

He said he did throw and hit the student with the ball and asked if he should apologize for it, and the student said yes. He explained to the student that how he felt was how the two staff members felt.

The school staff member was taken to jail, but has been released on $1,000 bond and has a court date set for May 10th.
