This April 14th will mark 110 years since the unsinkable ship known as Titanic did the unthinkable. It actually sank, claiming thousands of lives in the process. Her wreckage still lies at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and the public is still interested in the ship decades later. This weekend, you can find out what life was like onboard Titanic at a special event being held at the Marion Heritage Center.

'A Day on the Titanic' will be held on Sunday in Marion at 590 10th Street from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Gazette reports that visitors that day will receive a boarding pass with the name of an actual passenger from the ill-fated ship. You'll then ascend the Grand Stair Case and meet at the legendary clock made famous in the 1997 film directed by James Cameron. You'll also have the chance to touch actual artifacts brought up from the ship.

The Gazette reports that you'll also be able to view hundreds of vintage photographs of the Titanic and even blueprints of the ship. You'll then get to sit and sample some of the menu selections from the last dinner held on Titanic. The keynote address will be given by David Wendall, who will reveal the fate of Iowa's passengers on Titanic. The event will conclude with a showing of the movie 'Titanic'.
