The Fayette County Sheriff was called out to 2 car vs deer accidents over the weekend.


Shortly after 5am Sunday (June 2), officers were called to Highway 18, north of Hawkeye, where a vehicle driven by 27 year old Ceara King of Lime Springs, collided with a deer that had entered the roadway and struck the front of her vehicle.
King was not injured, but there was $2,500 in damages to her 2008 Chevy Equinox.

The other accident happened just after 8pm Sunday on Harding Road, northeast of West Union. A pickup driven by 72 year old Gladys Wilker of Postville struck a deer in the road. No one was injured; damages were estimated at $5,000 to her 2007 Chevy Pickup.
