Felony Charges Filed on 3 Area Young People

Three young area residents face charges for an alleged criminal mischief incident on the northeast side of Oelwein.
At about 11pm Sunday, Oelwein police arrested 18 year old Austin Peters of Maynard, 20 year old Mathew Fowlkes of Oelwein, and 17 year old Jacob Miller of Oelwein.

All three are being charged with criminal mischief 2nd degree, which is a Class D felony.

In addition, Fowlkes is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

The three were arrested after authorities investigated a report of criminal mischief in the 900 block of 7th Avenue NE in Oelwein.

No other information on the incident was released.
