Food Truck Friday Part of a Busy, Fun Weekend in Hiawatha

There's a trifecta of events this weekend in Hiawatha and they all have food.

Friday, June 17 is Food Truck Friday in the Village Center at the corner of Center Point Road and Emmons Street. This week, Hiawatha will be welcoming hungry appetites to the parking lot in front of City Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This Friday, the food trucks of Come N Get It, Good Morrow Pizza, and Taqueria La Familia Acosta will all be there. You can see their menus for Friday below.

*Food Truck Friday will be held again next Friday, June 24 at the same time. The food trucks for that event haven't been announced.

The El Kahir Shrine Temple at 905 Tower Terrace Road in Hiawatha is hosting a free Kids Day this Saturday. They promise a bouncy house, a parade of Shriner vehicles, games, face painting, and food. It's being held Saturday afternoon from noon to 4. More information is available here. I'd suggest keeping the paint a little more under control than this stock photo I found. While that smile is pure joy, that would be an awful lot to clean up.

If you've never attended the Hiawatha Farmers Market, you're missing out. The weekly event is held each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 10th Avenue parking lot on the west side of Guthridge Park. It runs each Sunday during that time from the beginning of May through the end of October. As you can see, if you can't make it this weekend, you've still got plenty of opportunities.
