COIVD-19 numbers in Iowa have fluctuated in recent weeks. Overall, cases are actually down in the last 24 hours. Which is very good news. Also good, our state's 14-day average dipped from 4.8% to 4.7%. And also good, the 7-day average fell from 4.7% to 4.6%. These numbers come from the state's official COVID-19 dashboard.

One number that has gone up, however, is hospitalizations. These rose from 194 to 204 in the last 24 hours. While it's a far cry from the 1,500+ back last year during the holiday season, it's still never good to see these numbers rise. Overall, there's been 4,475,922 COVID-19 tests administered in the state. Of those, 380,122 have been positive. The death total from COVID stands at 5,743 with most of these being adults 60-69 years of age.
