A Festive Open-Air Christmas Market is Coming to Iowa in November

For the third year in a row, the city of Pella will be hosting a unique Christmas market this holiday season!

Kerstmarkt is a Dutch Christmas market held annually in the heart of Pella, Iowa. The three-day event features all sorts of unique vendors, food, entertainment, and more! The Visit Pella website reads:

"Stroll along the Molengracht enjoying a warm beverage in hand from one of our local vendors. Along this European style canal you will also find many holiday and Dutch themed items available from local artisans. This festive event will be held in conjunction with Pella's Christmas Tour of Homes. Inspired by outdoor markets in the Netherlands, this cozy market will fill you with holiday cheer. Bring your family and friends for lasting memories, all while learning about Pella's Dutch culture in a winter wonderland."

As far as food goes, all of the vendors for 2023 have officially been announced. They include Frisian Farms Cheese, Off The Griddle, My Eatzz, Vrienden Huis, Wiseman's Waffles, Kaaswagen, the Pella Rotary Club, and the Pella Historical Museums. You can expect to see plenty of traditional Dutch treats, like poffertjes, pannenkoken, oliebollen, and stroopwafels.

And you can't have a market without merchandise vendors! Here are all the businesses that will be at the 2023 event:

The 3rd annual Kerstmarkt in Pella will take place Thursday, November 30th through Saturday, December 2nd. The hours are:

• Thursday, November 30th from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Friday, December 1st from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday, December 2nd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
