25-year-old Cedar Falls native A.J. Green has gone on to make the entire Cedar Valley very proud.
When the 6-foot 4 guard attended Cedar Falls High School, he helped lead the team to the 2018 state championship, according to reports. Green left the high school program as the school's all-time leading scorer.
A.J. Green’s College Basketball Success at UNI
Once he graduated, he stayed close to home to go to the University of Northern Iowa.
Green went on to become one of the best players in the college's history, being named the 2018-2019 Missouri Valley Conference Rookie of the Year and 2-time MVC Player of the year, according to reports.
A.J. Green’s NBA Career with the Milwaukee Bucks
For the past two seasons, A.J. Green has played for the Milwaukee Bucks.
That's right! He went straight from Cedar Falls to the NBA.
He averages 7.7 points per game. with a 43% field goal percentage, according to his official profile.
A.J. Green’s Jersey Retired at Cedar Falls High School
On Friday, February 14th, Green returned to his old high school stomping grounds for an incredible reason.
Cedar Falls High School officials hung up his #4 jersey in the rafters. His number has been retired and will never be worn by another athlete in the program again.
