Jay-Z May Be Trying To Ditch TIDAL

This may be my fault.

Jay-Z launched TIDAL as an unprecedented artist-owned streaming service in March, and if you listen to the press, the general public, and all the people who are not subscribing to it, it's a mess. And it seems the service's owner might have finally gotten the memo, too.

Several of the artists involved in the TIDAL launch have since spoken out in support of the service, including Madonna.

“It’s important that people understand we didn’t create Tidal, we didn’t put this together, we didn’t all join forces because we’re broke and we want more money. The idea is we want to support other artists and we want people to understand this is our heart, this is our work, and we want people to recognize that and we want other artists to have a chance," the Rebel Heart icon explained in a recent interview.

Nicki Minaj also voiced her support for the service mid-Taylor Swift Twitter drama: "I'm so glad u guys get to see how this stuff works. Taylor took her music off Spotify and was applauded. We launched Tidal & were dragged."

But as for Jay? According to HitsDailyDouble's Rumor Mill, he's allegedly trying to find a way out.

Tidal has gone eerily quiet of late, apart from statements of support from Nicki Minaj and Madonna, and the word is that Jay Z is looking to get out. This ambitious undertaking has cost him millions of his own money because he never got the expected funding, he still hasn’t paid the licensing fees to the rights holders and no one is likely to throw him a life preserver and bail him out, so he has little choice at this point except to stop the bleeding. What will his exit strategy look like? In mid-July, Birdman's Cash Money filed a lawsuit for $50 million against TIDAL after Lil Wayne premiered the Free Weezy Album exclusively on TIDAL, claiming ownership of Weezy's music.

What will I be able to do with THIS, sent directly to the Big Shot Program Director of Q92.3? Could I use it to jimmy doors open, like people do in movies?
