Jury Finds Paraeducator of Disabled Boy Not Guilty
A Rowley woman, on trial for allegedly helping a disabled boy write about past sexual abuse, has been found not guilty.
56 year old Fayla Cannon was charged with three counts of dissemination and exhibition of obscene materials to a minor, and three counts of malicious prosecution.
Cannon had been working as a paraeducator in Independence, when she is acccused of helping a 16 year old profoundly disabled boy, communicate past abuse, in writing.
She is also accused of going after another former paraeducator for the boy, the boy's father, and a former student.
A Buchanan County Jury came back with six not-guilty verdicts on Tuesday. The jury found that there was not enough evidence for a conviction.
