
Man Assaults Officer While Arrested on Assault Warrant
Authorities have arrested a local man for allegedly assaulting an officer, while being taken into custody on a separate warrant involving assault.
At about 8:30am Thursday (April 13), the Fayette County Sheriff was called to a home in Oelwein to help with a person wanted on a Fayette County Warrant.
When deputies arrived, 21-year-old Ryan Nolan of Oelwein was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for a Probation Violation; the original charge was Domestic Assault.
Nolan was also charged with Assault on a Peace officer, and Violation of a No-contact Order.
He was taken to the Fayette County Jail, where he waits for an initial court appearance.
