Man Dies in Farm-Related Accident in Johnson County

An Eastern Iowa man has died in a farm-related accident in rural Johnson County.

Emergency personnel were summoned at about 1:15pm Monday afternoon (May 7) to the accident scene, near the town of Parnell in rural Johnson County.

The victim of the accident was identified as 65-year-old Merlyn Yoder of Wellman. Yoder was struck and run over by a chemical sprayer; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Johnson County Sheriff is investigating; they were assisted by the Washington County Sheriff, Iowa State Patrol, Wellman Fire Department, Johnson county Ambulance, and Johnson County Medical Examiner.
