The Fayette County Sheriff has released more information on two teenage boys who allegedly stole a vehicle last week, and crashed it into a tree.

Authorities were contacted at about 2:30am March 20th about a pickup stolen from a residence in Hawkeye. The vehicle was later located and stopped in the city of West Union.

The truck had $3,000 damage; police determined that after the vehicle was stolen, it had struck a tree.

During that investigation, another stolen vehicle from West Union was found just outside of Hawkeye, and two other vehicles in West Union were burglarized. All of the crimes are apparently connected.

The driver, now identified as 17 year old Andrew Nagel of West Union, is being charged with theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief in the 2nd degree, possession of stolen property, carrying weapons and no valid driver's license.

His passenger, 17 year old Tyler Westcott, also of West Union, is charged with aiding and abetting the theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen property.
