Authorities have conducted a sting operation to arrest and charge a suspect, who allegedly stole a band instrument.


At about 2pm Friday (Nov. 2), Charles City Police set up the sting, and successfully recovered a stolen saxophone, worth about $1,200.

The sting was conducted in a parking lot in the 800 block of Kelly Street in Charles City.

As a result of the operation, 36-year-old Jason Moore of Charles City was taken into custody. He is being charged with possession of stolen property worth over $1,000, which is a felony.

After the arrest, the saxophone was returned to it's rightful owner. The victim's name was not released.
