The City of Fayette has a new council member.

Voters went to the polls Tuesday (March 15th) in a special election to fill a vacancy on the city council.

Three residents were on the ballot.

The unofficial election results from the Fayette County Auditor indicate Nancy Wulfekuhle is the winner, with 54 votes.

Challenger Curtis Larson got 45 votes, and Randy Sandhagen received 42 votes.

The vacancy on the Fayette City Council was created in January, when council member Rich Patrick resigned. Patrick had been re-elected to the council last November.
