Fayette County authorities have released more information on a rescue in high water last week.

It happened just before 4pm Thursday, between Sumner and Fayette, on Highway 93. The Fayette County Sheriff received a report of a person trapped in a vehicle, that had been overcome by water, from the flooding Volga River.
Responding deputies found 24 year old Deangelo Bivins of Westgate, tried to drive through water that was rushing across the road, when his car stalled.

Deputies also noticed a 500 gallon lp tank that began to float, and was headed toward the house.
The officers, with assistance from the Maynard fire department, managed to rescue the woman and her two dogs; no one was injured in either of the rescue operations.

Fayette County sheriff Marty Fisher says he would like to thank all of the first responders, fire departments, road department personnel, and citizens who assisted in the rescue efforts.
