The past few months have been slightly chaotic in Waterloo due to the road construction. As previously reported, on April 11th road construction began on the Park Avenue Bridge. At the time, officials said that this would cause road closures for approximately a year and a half.

Park Avenue is closed between Commercial Street and Sycamore Street.

Allegedly due to these road projects, one Waterloo business is closing. In a recent Facebook post, staff at the Snack Shack have announced that the store will be closing. Located on 189 West 11th Street, officials said that they are closing because of the bridge closure.

The statement on the store's Facebook page read,

"Due to the 11th Street Bridge closure we have decided to close this location. The city of Waterloo has 11th Street scheduled to be closed until the end of September 2023. Thank you for your years of support,".

Locals were left annoyed and a bit frustrated by this announcement. The comment section of this post had some fiery responses.

"We got like 4 bridges, we can get to the store yall ain't gotta close,"

There is no official word on when the store will be closing or if the owners will open up another location anytime in the near future.
