Oelwein Police have arrested two people in connection with a rash of vehicle thefts and break-in's.


On Sunday (April 8), Oelwein Police arrested 18-year-old Jordan Cornwell of Oelwein and a 15-year-old juvenile male also from Oelwein. Authorities have also been able to connect the two, to two car thefts in Hazleton. Police were able to recover a large amount of the stolen property, as well.

Cornwell is being charged with 2 counts of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner's Consent, and 4 counts of 3rd Degree Burglary. More charges are pending.

The 15-year-old is charged with multiple counts of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without the Owners' Consent, and multiple counts of 3rd Degree Burglary.

The Oelwein Police Department is asking for patience from the public, as authorities continue to process and return the recovered stolen property.
