Teenager Trapped, Injured In Grundy County Accident

A teenager was injured in a one-vehicle, roll-over accident in rural Grundy County Thursday morning (Oct. 1, 2015).

Sheriff's officials said Adrianna Murphy, 16, of Dike, was transported to Grundy County Memorial Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. According to authorities, Murphy was trapped in her car and had to be rescued.

The accident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. in the 29,000-mile of 170th St., approximately 1/2-miles southwest of Dike.

Sheriff's officials said Murphy was travelling eastbound on the county gravel road, when she met another vehicle and lost control. The car entered the south ditch and rolled over.

The 2006 Pontiac Murphy sustained $4,000 damage, sheriff's officials said.

The accident remains under investigation by Grundy County sheriff's officials.
