Oelwein Police have arrested two local men for recent burglaries, illegal weapons, and drugs, and more charges are expected.


Following an investigation, at about 4pm Sunday (Oct. 4) officers executed a search warrant at 12 6th Avenue NE in Oelwein. Authorities seized numerous items that were associated with recent break-in's, as well as illegal firearms and controlled substances.

33 year old Andrew Lein and 46 year old Audie Wood were taken into custody, for burglaries at occupied and unoccupied structures.

Lein is charged with:

Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of Controlled substances-Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession with intent to Deliver, 3 counts of being a felon in possession of firearms (a modified short barrel shotgun), and ammunition, possession of marijuana, possession of offensive weapons, and manufacturing illegal drugs within 1,000 feet of a school

Wood is charged with:

Burglary 3rd degree, possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, possession of offensive weapons, and manufacturing with 1,000 feet of a school.

According to Oelwein Police, more arrests related to local burglaries are anticipated.
