A man whose songs make you want to get up and move is on his way to Cedar Rapids this fall.

America first fell in love with Walker Hayes four years ago with his song 'You Broke Up With Me'.

Last year came 'Fancy Like'.

He's nearing the top 10 with is current single, 'AA'.

Everything he records is just infectious to the ears.

Walker Hayes first signed a deal as a songwriter and then a record deal in the late 2000s but things didn't work out the first time around. He would end up working at Costco to provide for his family but didn't give up on his dream or stop working toward it.

Five years ago, Hayes signed a second record deal and his second chance has led to stardom. However, the ride to becoming a star came with tragedy. In June of 2018, his seventh child, Oakleigh, died shortly after birth. The night of the funeral, two years sober at the time, he attended an AA meeting that he says saved his life. Hayes says that day was the inspiration behind his latest hit, 'AA'. He's still sober today.

Walker Hayes' new 'Glad You're Here Tour' was announced this morning and it includes a Cedar Rapids show at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse Arena on Friday night, October 21. He'll be joined by Parmalee.
