Why You Never Veer for a Deer…

An Oelwein woman's car is totaled, after she swerved to miss a deer.

The accident happened at about 8:30am Wednesday, 2 miles northeast of Oelwein on 50th Street.

44 year old Vickie Sue Wendel was driving east, when she veered to avoid colliding with a deer in the road.

Her car went into a nearby ditch, and was totaled.

No one was injured.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
