
Woman Charged with Stealing from Handicapped Person
A Northeast Iowa caregiver has been arrested for allegedly stealing from her handicapped client.
At about 2:45pm Wednesday (March 7), the Fayette County Sheriff's Office got a report of a person who was stealing from a rural residence near Hawkeye.
When responding deputies arrived, they learned that 54-year-old Janell Ann Bergman of Maynard, an employee of Quality Choices Incorporated in Oelwein, was in a home, caring for a handicapped person.
Bergman was arrested and charged with Theft in the 5th Degree.
Bergman was held in jail until her initial court appearance.
