Young Area Resident Taken Into Custody on Warrant

A young local resident has been arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Just before 8pm Sunday (Feb. 26), 18-year-old Shawnessy Washington of Oelwein was arrested by Oelwein Police.

Washington was wanted on a Fayette County Warrant, for Failure to Appear in Court, on an original charge of Accessory to a Felony.

The arrest was made after a traffic stop in the 2500 block of South Frederick in Oelwein.
