
7/16/2007: Softball Sized Hail in Cedar Valley
13 years ago today, portions of the Cedar Valley were pummeled with giant hail stones --- baseball AND softball-sized. The National Weather Service in Des Moines shared a photo of one of the 4" hailstones. (Below)
Janesville and Cedar Falls both reported hailstones measuring 4.25" -- as big as a grapefruit. New Hartford saw baseball-sized hail.
